ABSTRACT
Occupational contact dermatitis (OCD) is one of the most common occupational skin diseases. Occupational contact dermatitis has been observed to have a high risk of occurrence among the blue collar workers at workplace. Occupational contact dermatitis regularly causes high levels of worker morbidity. The incidence rate was confirmed cases was 20.5 per 100,000 workers. The 1-year period prevalence rate was 34.5 per 100,000. Hence a study is aimed to assess the clinical symptoms and associated risk factors of occupational contact dermatitis among leather shoe production industry workers. METHODS: A descriptive research design was used in this study. The total study sample was 100 workers who work in leather shoe production industry. The sample were selected using purposive random sampling. Modified Nordic Occupational Skin Questionnaire NOSQ-2002 checklist to assess the clinical symptoms and self-structured questionnaire was used to assess the associated risk factors of Occupational Contact Dermatitis. RESULT: The study concludes that most of them have redness frequently 48(48%), dry skin frequently (40%), burning frequently 50(50%), sometimes they have blisters 39(39%), most of them have itching sometimes 67(67%), majority of them have pain/aching sometimes 59(59%). The major risk factors that cause occupational contact dermatitis (OCD). Contact with leather is 20%, no protective gloves used is 20%, working hours is greater than 8 hours is 18%, contact with adhesives/glues is 16%, contact with liquid soaps, shampoos is 14%, frequency of hand washing is less than 5 times per day is 12%.

ABSTRACT
Background: Fingerprint patterns are unique in each individual and the chance of two persons having identical fingerprints is about one in 64 thousand millions. The fingerprint ridges formed during foetal period do not change their course or alignment throughout the life of an individual. Finger prints are useful in forensic investigation especially for identification purpose and detection of various crimes. Objectives: The present study was conducted to correlate between fingerprint patterns in ABO, Rh blood groups and to evaluate their significance. Methods: A total 186 second year MBBS students of Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam India, with known blood groups from age group 17-22 years male and female were included in the study. Fingerprints were obtained by Ink method. Parameters studied Loops, Whorls, Arches, composite. Results: The general distribution pattern of finger print showed high frequency (55.65%) of loops followed by whorls and arches. Blood groups majority of the subjects (45.16%) in the study were of blood group O followed by blood group B, A and AB of whom 94.08% were Rh-positive. Highest frequency of loops was seen in O positive blood group followed by B positive.Conclusion: There is an association between distribution of finger print pattern and blood groups.

ABSTRACT
Aspartame is widely used artificial sweeter as well as in foods products such as soft drinks, hot chocolate, candy, as well as some vitamins and sugar-free cough drops. There is no available work concerned hepato-,cardio-and lung toxicities. The present studies focused on analysis the aspartame associated alterations of the mentioned organs. Fourteen male albino Wistar albino rats weighing approximately 100 gram body weight. They were divided into two main groups. Control and aspartame-treated groups (80mg/kg body weight every other day for 4 weeks). At the end of treatments, animals were sacrificed and liver,heart and lung were dissected and processed for histological investigation and immunohistochemistry of caspase 3. The present findings showed focal collection of inflammatory cells associated with damaging liver, myocardium and alveolar cells. Interstitial fibrosis of the alveoli was detected. Immunohistochemistry of caspase 3 revealed increased increased immunostaining manifesting cell death. Finally the authors concluded that aspartame-treatment led to cardio-,hepato and lung toxicity that must be controlled during administration.
