Measuring Performance of the Freight Rail Transport Companies in the Slovak Republic

The objective of article is to assess the financial performance of Slovak enterprises based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The sample consists of 28 Slovak companies which operate in the rail freight sector. We use relevant key indicators which describe specific area of rail freight transport in the Slovak Republic. These indicators are calculated based financial statements from financial database Finstat. The results show that majority of transport companies are not efficient.
