GRP78 is a reticulum-based molecular chaperone that helps fold and assemble protein, controls protein stability, and regulates ER tension signals via Ca2+ attachment to ER. Tumours consistently upregulate GRP78. It functions as a critical stress sensor that recognises and adapts to shifts inside the tumour’s microenvironment, mediating cancer cell stress in response to various microenvironmental stimuli and triggering a folding protein response. GRP78 is increasingly related to increased lung cancer and lousy prognosis and plays an essential role in treating lung cancer. We first investigated its role and mechanism in tumorigenesis, apoptosis, autophagy, proliferation, and drug tolerance to better understand GRP78's involvement in lung cancer pathology. We have researched GRP78's function as a pronounced biomarker and a lung cancer therapeutic goal to detect and cure lung cancer.
