Many studies on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic are being conducted on various sectors such as health, finance and travel industry at large. This paper tries to assess the current and likely after effects of COVID-19 on hotel operations in Ghana, using the 3 to 5 star rated hotels as a case. The sample size was 50 out of the 55 hotels in this category in the country. The mixed approach was used to collect data by the use of questionnaire with both open and closed ended questions. Microsoft excel was used in the data analysis. The study found that the occupancy rate, operation capacity and employment were affected drastically by the pandemic therefore; it is recommended that hotels employ the use of discounts and promotions to attract guests. Industry players should sign up to insurance policies that can help cushion their businesses in times of crises.
